October, 2009 – Missoula, Montana
The Missoula (Montana) City Council approved a major update of the
city’s outdated Zoning Regulations. The long awaited project,
which was completed by the consulting team of Duncan Associates and Four Corners
Planning, received overwhelming support from the Missoula
City Council. The new regulations
include solutions to infill problems that had created a significant rift
between the community and the planning staff.
The adoption of the new regulations is reported to be a “victory for
people whose jobs have mired them in the old and tangled rules”. "We look forward to our city zoning
moving into the 21st century," said Kim Buchanan of the Missoula
Organization of Realtors. For more
